Well, to find out at which location in
Calgary movies
are playing, in particular if it's a new movie release that you're interested in,
you can look in the
weekly FFWD magazine,
of course. Or you could take a look at calgarymovies.com for details.
On this website Don't like theirs? Create your own you can search for the movie you want to watch and see a listing of calgary movie showtimes at the various theaters in the area.
I find this much easier than reading through the
papers
cinema by cinema until you find the movie you want to see.
If you're undecided whether to go or not, then perhaps the additional movie reviews on this site by ordinary Calgarians will persuade you one way or the other. Or international ones. I especially like imdb.com and rottentomatoes.com for reference.

Let's stay in tonight
Perhaps you're one of the people who prefer to stay
home
and watch a DVD
instead of paying to go to the cinema to watch something on the big screen.
Well yes, I do agree that staying at home to watch a DVD has its benefits. But there is something about going out to Calgary movies to look forward to that you just can't get by staying at home to watch.
DVD rental and retail stores are far too numerous to list individually here.
Maybe it's the big screen. Perhaps you remember the excitement you experienced as a child when your parents made a fuss about taking you out to the cinema to watch your favorite movie.
Whatever it is, going out once in a while to the movies is great fun, especially if combined with a restaurant meal before or a
nightcap
afterwards.
Although some cinemas showing Calgary movies are independently owned and operated, there are some chains as well. Cineplex Odeon Theatres is one chain with perhaps the most outlets in the city. There's also Empire Theatres and Landmark Cinemas.
Whichever cinema you decide to visit is either one of personal preference, or perhaps the only one playing in Calgary movies you want to see. Then again the best popcorn on offer could also be a deciding factor, in which case the Globe or the Uptown are probably best for you.
You will find something that suits you. For sure.
