An accident waiting to happen?

An accident waiting to happen?

This is a band that surely knows how to put on a good show. Its three members play many instruments amongst them, some have said guitar, bass, sax, drums, flute, mandolin, harmonica, and lap steel and perhaps more.

The members of the band have several years of playing experience, performing in all types of groups over the last three decades. Experience only comes with time of course, and these guys know what people like to hear. Stage smarts is a quality Fender Bender has, and with all that performing time, one thing is certain, Fender Bender knows their stuff.

This band is perfect for that celebration, car show or even a high school reunion… They play 50’s and 60’s rock'n roll mostly. Dance the night away to this great music from decades past, made famous by biggest stars like, Roy Orbison, The Beatles, The Temptations, CCR, The Righteous Brothers, Dion and so forth. And we know getting the crowd involved in the fun is an important part of any memorable time.

Barry's Response - Sounds like fun, Rock. Where did you see them?

Horrible Band

COMPLETE RIP OFF!!!! I hope everyone wanting to book the Fender Benders would read this.

We recently hired the Fender Benders to play for our wedding. We should have cut our losses after our first problem with them, but didn't- which turned out to be a bad mistake.

We dealt with Nigel. He was great, until our deposit was paid. At which point he often answered our requests 5 days later with "My time is worth $250 an hour, and I am very busy". They started off being very flexible and literally once the deposit was paid, it was clear it was their show. When we requested specific music to be played (we needed a first dance after all), Nigel's response was "letting you pick the music would be like us telling a joke and you saying the punch line"!!! Completely unprofessional and actually down right rude.

Our wedding day was near perfect, that is until Nigel chose to ruin it. We had organized have our sister sing the first dance for us, they had VERY clear direction that she was doing this. Instead, when it was announced the picked up and started to play their own song!! She then stood up there saying she was there to sing, to which they responded "you missed the first dance".

The first two sets were fine, because of the diverse crowd at our wedding we chose to have mostly oldies playing but in between sets have some younger music play. Nigel had told us we were welcome to plug an ipod into their PA system which we did. Half the dance floor was packed with our friends dancing, when Nigel turned the music down to a point at which you could barely hear. My spouse spoke to him right away, to which he responded "we don't want to blow our speakers....."---- right. Luckily we had 4 musicians there outside of the band, all at different times told us this was a "band trick"- they turn the music down so nobody dances as it looks poorly on them if more people dance during the intermissions than during their sets!!

They eventually unplugged the music and left us with silence. As you can imagine, this cued most of the guests to leave. They still had another set to play, and after asking the to start their set AT LEAST 5 times, the started it 30 minutes later, with maybe 5% of the guests left. I was very upset by this point as they were blatantly ignoring us. Because they took so long to start the last set, they only play for 25 minutes as we had to be out of the venue by 1 (something they were very clear on). So we successfully say they washed our money down the toilet with a smug smile, while playing only a half of a set.

Honestly, a waste of money. Do yourself a favour and get a DJ or a band with GREAT references. They turned such a special day in to some pretty hard feelings, and weren't even smart enough to try and turn that around when told (many of times!)

and on a side note, the cheque we wrote to them was attempted to be chased at $10 000 more than it was for. I will give them the benefit of the doubt here and call it a bank error....

That 3 persons god gifts to us. They are playing guitar, bass, sax, drums, flute, mandolin, harmonica, and lap steel and perhaps more in a lot of years. So they have lot of experience in that music field.if they are perform that instruments means really that is our unforgettable moment..,

Ready to Dance

This really looks like the kind of group that I would want to play a wedding. A lot of times, the bands at those kinds of gatherings don’t get anyone in the mood to dance, but Fender Bender looks like they can have a good time.

It has interesting information but it does not grab the attention of readers. The color of the webpage is very dull.

The write-up on them was creative, funny and it looks like they know their stuff. The Picture seems pretty quirky (which may turn people off) but overall I bet that would work for a high school reunion, or charity event.

Not Sure

I don't think I'd be into that type of band. It would have to be the right venue but you laid out what they do.

Barry's Response to all comments - Give this band, Back in the Day, a try next time.

Great Little Band - But Their Name?
by: DLynn

Sounds like a great little melange of a band to hear for a date night. But the name of the band? I was expecting a loud metal band.
