Which Way to Skyview Ranch?

Search for more Calgary.

What is the newest northeast subdivision? Skyview Ranch. You'll find it north of Country Hills Boulevard and south of 128 Avenue, between Metis Trail and 68th Street NE. Northeast of the Airport, Skyview offers a quick jaunt to both the Deerfoot Trail, Metis Trail and Stoney Trail, and the airport itself, of course. It may also have the quickest drive to the Cross Iron Mills Mall as well.

This area started building up in 2008 and shall accommodate a few thousand residents when complete. It will eventually be surrounded by several other communities; for now, it's quite isolated. A concern might be the commute time to downtown, but not to worry; at just over 20 minutes along the Deerfoot, drivers here are a lot better off than they are at many other communities. The number 4 on the map shows how close it is to the freeway system.

Skyview Ranch Location

What is Skyview Ranch?

This Calgary neighbourhood offers impressive landscapes, parks, pathways and perfect dwellings for young families. SkyView Ranch shall have the amenities that combine city streetscapes with country living. It's so new, though, that they're not in place quite yet but that might change by the time you see this. Those who like to see the Rockies and the distant city skyline might appreciate this new perspective from the North. Playgrounds, shopping, parks and transportation access will be provided. There's even a fire station out here.

What about schools? The Calgary Board of Education has designated these for now: Mayland Heights for kindergarten to grade 6, Bob Edwards Junior High and Lester B. Pearson High School for the kids here. The Catholic Separate School District has Msgr A. J. Hetherington and St. Wilfrid Schools for the youngest kids, St. Martha Junior High and Bishop McNally High School for the older ones.  Here's a photo from its early development days.

Skyview Ranch under Construction

What are we to expect? A new shopping village, C-train station and the new Calgary ring road nearby already open for business, interlocking parks and regional pathways give this hood decent space for walking, jogging or cycling. Furthermore, wetlands and green spaces will allow fun activities and sports as well, with the central figure here being a Recreation Centre at some point. If you like the concept of a master planned community, you should enjoy this one.

Prices in are very reasonable too - another reason to check it out. Go back from Skyview Ranch to the Calgary Real Estate web page or visit the Calgary City Maps homepage.
